Improve acoustics
Improve acoustics? Here's how!
Are you bothered by reverberation? A lot of sound reflection when the children are playing while shouting and laughing or when you have visitors? This is most likely because there are a lot of hard materials in the room. Think of a hard floor (wood or concrete) and hard walls and ceilings. But a leather couch, wooden chair or cupboard are also bad for your acoustics. Your Piece of Art can contribute to your sound problem! Read the following steps to improve the acoustics in your home.
How do I improve the acoustics?
You can improve the acoustics in a room by adding various soft components to the room. Think of using a rug, fabric furniture, but also by dividing the room differently. Can you easily create corners in your home that interrupt the sound? Try moving them and see what the result is. Plants and window decorations also contribute to better acoustics and your Piece of Art, made of the soft material felt, will also improve your acoustics in your home. The following applies to everything: the larger the surface area, the better the damping.
Why does PET felt reduce reverberation?
In order to be able to record sound well, the structure must be open. The material of the artwork consists of compressed plastic fibers. The open spaces allow sound to be absorbed into the artwork. The sound disappears into the artwork and is thus dampened, where with a hard material the sound would be reflected back into the room. The advantage is that you receive the artworks ready-made and can hang them on the wall. So you can immediately enjoy your chosen Piece of Art and improved acoustics.
Where can I best place the acoustic works?
In order to dampen the sound, it is best to place the artwork in a place where sound is absorbed the least. Think of a large, bare wall. Here the reverberation has free rein and can cause annoying reflections back into the room. In this way, you not only make the room acoustically better, but your room also gets more atmosphere.
